Between July 28th to August 28th, 2015, the research team conducted a preliminary survey at Bako National Park with the help of the National Park (NP) staff. Bako NP is one of Sarawak’s smallest but oldest NP. The targeted respondents were among the Bako NP visitors from various age groups and nationalities, who registered at the jetty for transportation. A total of 200 questionnaires were handed out by the staff of the Persatuan Bot Penumpang Taman Negara Bako and a total of 184 responses were recorded, though not all respondents provide answers to all questions.

During the one month survey course, we’ve documented the overview of the demographics in the NP (during the data collection period) and the differences between the local and international visitors’ responses on the usage trends of media and online information sharing platforms before and while visiting Bako NP and other destination in Sarawak
